Website Terms
These cover use of the website only. They are deliberately not trading terms: see section 6 on why your coffee contracts need to be drafted separately by a commodity trade lawyer, not adapted from a web page.
1. Who operates this site
This website is operated by CETU registered legal name, registered office address, company number add company number. Referred to below as "CETU", "we" or “us”.
2. Using this site
You may read this site, and download or print pages, for your own business purposes in evaluating CETU as a trading partner. You may not republish our content, present it as your own, or use it to imply an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.
3. The information here is indicative
Descriptions of origins, species, processing methods, harvest windows and capabilities are provided in good faith to help you decide whether to talk to us. They are not offers, and not contractual specifications.
Coffee is an agricultural product. Availability, quality, cup profile, grades and volumes vary by harvest, lot and season. Nothing on this site is a warranty that any particular coffee will be available or will meet a given specification.
4. Samples and enquiries
Submitting the enquiry form starts a conversation. It does not create a contract, reserve any lot, or oblige either of us to trade. A binding agreement arises only when we and you sign a contract for a specific lot, on terms recorded in that contract.
5. Limits on our liability
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information published here.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Where you deal with us as a business rather than a consumer, statutory consumer protections do not apply.
6. Trading terms are agreed separately
Read this section carefully. Green coffee is traded on established industry contract forms, not on website terms. Depending on the market and route, that typically means the European Coffee Federation contract for a European destination, or the Green Coffee Association contract for North America, together with an agreed Incoterm, a quality arbitration clause, and agreed weight and moisture tolerances.
Each shipment also carries its own documentary requirements: certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, bill of lading, ICO marks, weight notes, and EU deforestation-regulation due-diligence records where the destination is the EU.
Have a lawyer experienced in commodity trade prepare these. Do not adapt this page into a sales contract.
7. Intellectual property
The CETU name, logo, site design, text and images belong to CETU or are used with permission. Nothing here transfers any right in them to you.
8. Links to other sites
Where we link outward, we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
9. Personal data
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
10. Governing law
State the governing law and the courts with jurisdiction. This needs deliberate thought rather than a default: CETU operates between India and the EU, and the answer affects how a dispute would actually be run and enforced.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published here at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
